Ownership and Funding

US In News is owned and operated by Chris Simpson. There is one owner, no outside investors, no parent company, and no group ownership structure. This page states the whole arrangement.

Ownership

Chris Simpson is the publisher and editor-in-chief of US In News. He also runs Pensacola SEO Company, a search marketing business, and that is disclosed here because a reader is entitled to know what else the person publishing a news site does for a living.

No third party holds an equity stake, a convertible note, or any other financial interest in the site. No individual or organisation outside the owner has editorial control, approval rights, or veto over what is published.

Funding

US In News is self-funded. The owner pays the operating costs — domain, hosting, and the infrastructure the publishing pipeline runs on — out of pocket.

We have taken no grants, no donations, no sponsorship, and no investment. There is no crowdfunding campaign and no membership programme.

Revenue

There is currently no revenue. US In News is pre-revenue. The site carries no advertising, has no ad partners, sells no sponsored content, and runs no affiliate links.

We say this plainly rather than describing a business model we do not yet have. Our ads.txt file lists no authorised sellers, because there are none to list. If you see an advertisement on a page of this site, something is wrong and we would like to hear about it at editor@usinnews.com.

We expect that to change. Advertising is the most likely first revenue source. Nothing has been sold and no agreement is in place.

Political and commercial affiliation

US In News has no political affiliation. It is not aligned with, funded by, or operated on behalf of any party, campaign, candidate, political action committee, advocacy group, or government body.

The owner's other business, Pensacola SEO Company, has clients. Those clients have no involvement in this site and no influence over its coverage. If US In News ever reports on a business connected to the owner, the connection will be disclosed inside the article itself, not left to be discovered on this page.

What we would disclose if this changed

If any of the following happens, it will be published on this page and dated: an outside party takes an ownership stake; the site accepts funding, a grant, or a donation from any source; advertising goes live, along with what kind and who the partners are; sponsored or paid content is published, and how it will be labelled; the site is sold, or control passes to another person or entity.

Individual sponsored or paid items, if they ever exist, will be labelled as such on the item, not only disclosed here. A disclosure a reader has to go looking for is not a disclosure.

How the site is produced

Funding structure and production method are separate questions, and both are disclosed. Reporting on US In News is published under desk identities — World, Tech, Business, Science, Politics, Newsroom — which are editorial beats, not individual human journalists. The publishing pipeline is automated, with editorial oversight and final accountability held by the editor-in-chief. Our editorial standards page sets out how that works.
