Privacy Policy

US In News is a static site with analytics and nothing else — here is precisely what that means for your data.

Most privacy policies are long because the site collects a lot. Ours is short and specific because this site collects almost nothing. Below is the complete picture.

What this site is, technically

US In News is a static website. The pages you read are pre-built files served from Cloudflare's network. There is no application server processing your visit, no database recording it, and no user session.

What we collect

Cloudflare Web Analytics, and nothing else. It records aggregate figures: page views, referring sites, country, browser, and device type. It does not use cookies and does not fingerprint your browser or device. We see how many people read a story and roughly where they came from. We cannot see who you are, and we cannot follow an individual reader between pages or between visits.

Cloudflare also operates as our network and security layer, which means it processes your IP address in order to deliver the page and block attacks. That is a technical necessity of serving a website. Cloudflare's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

What we do not collect

No accounts. There is no registration, no login, and no user profile.

No newsletter. We do not run a mailing list and there is no email signup form on this site. If we launch one, it will be opt-in, this page will be updated, and the address will be used for that newsletter only.

No advertising cookies, no ad network tags, no retargeting pixels, no third-party ad scripts. We have no advertising and no ad partners, so there is nothing here to drop them.

No analytics cookies, no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording, no heatmaps, no A/B testing scripts.

No comment section, and no forms that collect personal information.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data, because we do not hold any to sell.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set cookies necessary for security and bot mitigation. You will not see a cookie consent banner here — not because we have hidden the tracking, but because there is none to consent to.

Email you send us

If you write to one of our addresses — editor@, corrections@, tips@, legal@, security@, ads@ — we hold that email in order to reply to it. Your address is used to answer you and for nothing else. It is not added to any list. Correspondence is retained where we need a record, which includes corrections, legal notices, and security reports.

Embedded content and outbound links

Article videos are generated by us from the article text and served from our own infrastructure. They are not YouTube or Vimeo embeds and they carry no third-party tracking.

Articles link out to source outlets and official pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices and their own trackers, and we have no control over them. Following a link takes you outside this policy.

Your rights

Rights under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA apply to personal data held about you. In practice we hold almost none: analytics are aggregate and non-identifying, so there is typically no record of you to access, correct, or delete. The exception is email you have sent us.

To ask what we hold, or to have your correspondence deleted, write to editor@usinnews.com. We will act on the request and confirm when it is done.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Given that we collect no personal data from any reader, this is a statement of intent as much as of practice.

Changes

If our data collection changes — an ad partner, a newsletter, a third-party embed — this page is updated with a new date before that change goes live. Questions go to editor@usinnews.com.
